We are starting with music by the Beatles – in the presentation of the Czech National Symphonic Orchestra, conducted by an experienced overlapper Carl Davis. The same orchestra, this time led by the chief conductor Libor Pešek, will greet on the anniversary day, 7^th July this year's honoree Gustav Mahler. And there are coming excellent guests - Eric Marienthal will play a saxophone solo at the concert of the founder of film music Michael Kamen, all this directed by Petr Altrichter.

Significantly jazzy will be the concert of the ČNSO Jazz Meets Symphony with the trumpetist James Morris and conductor Lalo Schifrin. There are two great nights awaiting us – the Alpine one, when besides the homonymic symphony by Richard Strauss there will be played also a lesser known concert for the giant cornet by Leopold Mozart under conductor's supervision of Libor Pešek. And then the Hollywood one - Marcello Rota is a guarantee of a nice experience with music from behind lights of the film world.

There is coming a Polish jazz star – the songstress Anna Maria Jopek, known among others for cooperation with the world personalities – such as for example Pat Metheny, Randy Brecker or Richard Bono. And she is going to invite renown guests to Prague as well. An interesting aberration will be a special performance of the mature formation of the theatre Sklep, furthermore the Prague brass ensemble, the Rosefield London Trio…

The 6^th year of the festival Prague Proms will be closed by a concert consisting of Italian arias called Notte alla Scala. Again with Marcello Rota.

This year's Prague Proms will again be a little bit more various, bigger and of course better.

And moreover – we have kept to ourselves as a reserve the name of one great world star. And this is going to be a nice surprise!
